Pre-School Rooms

0 - 2 Years
Staff ratio 1:3 (maximum 9 children).

This room is split into 3 areas: the main play area; an area for children under 1 year old; and a separate sleep area.

In the 0 - 2 years room the children have their own routine as many still require sleep through the day and have bottle feeds, etc. All their individual needs can be discussed with staff who ensure that any routines, likes and dislikes can be followed to make the nursery a home from home.

Daily diaries are kept and given to the parents at the end of each session. These will include information about feeds, nappies and the activities that have taken place.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is used in the planning & assessment of all activities. Activities include painting & sticking, musical instruments, baking and sand & water play. Staff always have time for one to one, sharing books, singing nursery rhymes, or just having a cuddle!

When the weather is suitable, staff take the children (with the parent/carers permission) for a walk in the local lanes to see the cows, sheep and horses. The outside play area has suitable ride on toys together with a small slide and a climbing frame.

Staff ensure that children are happy and kept busy at all times. All activities are planned around the current themes and learning through play is encouraged.
